Why Am I Not Getting Pregnant? 3 Common Hindrances to a Successful Fertilization

“Why am I not getting pregnant” is a common question among women trying to make a family for the first – and sometimes the second or third – time.  It can be very frustrating to attempt to get pregnant and have no success.  However, the reasons for this can usually be pinpointed and fixed, and many women struggling with infertility have gone on to have successful pregnancies.

Here are some reasons you may not be getting pregnant.

Lack of CM or cervical mucus

Cervical mucus plays an important role in getting pregnant.  The key role it plays is the facilitation of conception by allowing pregnancy to happen even at a time not near ovulations.  Cervical mucus nourishes, protects, and speeds the sperm through the uterus and into the fallopian tubes so it may fertilize the egg.

One way to keep track of your cervical mucus (which is at its best for fertility when it is clear, slippery, and resembles raw egg whites) is to chart your cycle.  This way you can tell when your cervical mucus will be most likely to help with fertilization.

Male infertility

Your partner may be the one responsible for your lack of conception success.  However, it is quite common.  30-40% of couples will discover fertility problems in both parters; about 20% will see fertility problems only in the male.

A semen analysis can be a simple way of determining the potency of sperm.
Treatment of male infertility often includes antibiotics, surgery to repair a vasectomy, or medications and fertility drugs that improve sperm production.

Blocked fallopian tubes

Irregular ovulation is another common problem for women who are having trouble getting pregnant.  These issues may be caused by blocked fallopian tubes, where an obstruction in a woman’s fallopian tubes prevents sperm from reaching the egg.

The most common cause of blocked fallopian tubes is in fact PID or pelvic inflammatory disease, which is sometimes caused by an STD, but not always.

A history of miscarriage, previous abortion, history of abdominal surgery, and a previous ectopic pregnancy can all be contributing factors in fallopian tube blockage.

Female Infertility and Problems Getting Pregnant

Female infertility can be defined as a condition which is characterized by some defects in the reproductive system which makes it difficult for a woman to get pregnant. Female infertility is categorized into two parts: primary infertility and secondary infertility.

In primary infertility the women fails to conceive even after having intercourse regularly for a period of one year. Secondary infertility can be defined as a condition where the woman is incapable to getting pregnant while she is trying to get pregnant for the second time. A woman, who is fertile, has reproductive organs which functions properly and produces eggs on a regular basis and the reproductive tract permits the egg and sperm to reach the fallopian tube for fertilization.

There are no specific signs of infertility that are experienced in our day to day lives. Infertility only comes into the picture when conception of a baby fails to occur even after having consistent intercourse for one year. Lack of menstrual cycles, obesity or experiencing excessive pain during intercourse or menstruation, can be warning signal for infertility.

The reasons for infertility depend on various factors such as ovarian disorder, polycystic ovarian syndrome, blockage or damage of fallopian tube, ovarian cysts, pelvic infection, early menopause, endometriosis, fibroids, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. A woman is most fertile when she is at her early twenties. Women in her mid thirties find it difficult to conceive as ovaries are not adept enough to produce eggs. Miscarriages are also common for women who get pregnant after the age of thirty five. Smoking and consumption of alcohol instigates infertility.

Tests like magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound scan, pelvic exam, clomiphene citrate challenge test, endometrial biopsy, post-coital test, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and hysterosalpingography are recommended for the diagnosis of female infertility. The treatment is done on the basis of the factors which have caused the condition, age and the period of time in which infertility has surfaced. Women with ovulatory disorders are recommended the usage of fertility drugs so that ovulation can be induced.

Surgery is applicable for patients who are facing problems with the fallopian tubes. Artificial insemination is chosen by people who have large number of sperm antibodies in their cervical mucus which does not let the sperms survive in the female body. In this procedure the sperms are directly introduced into the uterus. Other options of treatment such as in vitro fertilization, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, gamete intra-fallopian transfer, and zygote intra-fallopian transfer are also available for the patients.

Cure Infertility, Boost Fertility and Get Pregnant Naturally and Wholistically

The mistake most intertile couple make is waiting too long in getting pregant. Yes, infertility is a couple’s business and not just the woman. About 40% of the cause of infertility is blamed on the women. Another 40% is blamed on male infertility factors. Five percent is shared by the two couples and the remaining 5% is said to be due to unknown infertility factors.

Now, to get pregnant is a natural process and anytime a couple is labeled ‘infertile’, there is a problem. This is because Western medicine and their fertility doctors have little solution for infertility sufferers. Western fertility doctors are limited to harmful drugs, invasive procedures and aggressive surgery. All these methods are exercise in futility rather than fertility. Orthodox medicine has it’s limitations and boundaries that does not address the root cause of infertility in the first place.

For instance, fertility drugs like clomiphene citrate (clomid) is associated with ovarian cysts and cancer. Yes, clomid can also cause multiple pregnancy and deformed babies if they work at all. Now while trying to cure the problem of anovulation (not making eggs), clomiphene create multiple premature ovulation and exhausted ovary. The infertile woman need healthy ovary to make eggs, achieve healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.

Another cause of infertility and perhaps the most important is hormonal imbalance. The reproductive hormones are FSH, LH, Estrogen, progesterone and testesterone. Hormonal imbalance is the underlying cause of all other secondary causes of infertility like fibroids, ovarian cysts, endomytriosis, endometrial hyperplasia, irregular periods, heavy periods or lack of mensis. This is because there is a maxim in natural medicine that says, “for any symptoms (infertility in this case) or symptom complex, there is always an imbalance behind it.”

Of all these hormones mentioned above, estrogen dominance relative to progesterone stands out as the greatest cause of infertility. This is because of all sources of estrogen in the environment and it gets worse by the day. These include zenoestrogens, plant estrogens and mycoestrogens. On the other hand, far too many infertile women have low progesterone.

Remember that progesterone is the hormone of pregnancy. Its name is derived from pro-gestation meaning ‘for pregnancy’. So you must raise the level of progesterone and balance it with normal level of the good estrogen like estriol to get pregnant. Hormonal imbalance is a key infertility factor that orthodox obstetricians have failed to address. Natural pregnancy remedies can remedy this situation and pave the way for the infertile woman to get pregnant.

Here are the steps you need to take to combat female infertility, stop estrogen dominance as you balance your hormones, get pregnant and have healthy babies:

The infertile woman must learn to listen to her body and avoid all junk, processed, devitalized and chemicalized food. Eat organic non-estrogenic foods where possible. Any food that can boost fertility can cure infertility. “Anything that can prevent disease can cure it,” says Dr. Benard Jensen.

Therefore, avoid foods like soy beans, commercial vegetable oils, flaxseed, carrots, dioxins, organophosphates, stored nuts, and bread contaminated with myco-estrogens.

Aggressive cleasing and detoxification of the blood, liver, colon and the kidneys. Bitters like gentian, chaste berry (vitex), Chinese bitters, goldenseal and wormwood (also kills parasites) are paramount. This is because they also clean out the reproductive organs. Then introduce superfoods like acai, avocados, mangoes, tomatoes, and green vegetable juices. These foods also correct anomalies in the reproductive organs that set the body up for infertility. It hard to be infertile when you eat the regular recommendation of five servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Exceptions to this rule are menopause, and underlying structural abnormality of the reproductive organs. Because food is either not enough or chemicalized, all infertile couple need to supplement to boost fertility.

Now comes fertile food supplementation. For you to balance your pregnancy hormones, and regularize your period, you need a systemic enzyme blend containing nattokinase and serrapeptase. These enzymes work best with myomin which block estrogens at their receptor sites in the ovary, uterus, thyroid and fat cells. Myomin also prevents aromatization of testesterone back to harmful estrogen (estradiol). myomin also help the detoxification work of the liver and cleans out the blood while regulating the immune system.

Coupled with hormonal balance is stress management. By the time a couple is labeled infertile, the psychic component kicks in. None of us can eliminate stress; we can only control it. Mind-body connection comes to play in infertility management. I prefer to call it psycho-spiritual infertility treatment. Emotions and hormones go together. And stress is very important in body balance and getting pregnant. Large doses of vitamin C, astragulus, magnesium, zinc and vitamin B-complex (especially B6) is necessary to control stress because they balance enzymes (enzymes drive hormones) and are adaptogens that help the body cope with stress. Letting go and letting God, forgiveness and positive outlook to life are necessary to combat infertility. This is because human spirit, soul and body are alwyays considered in evaluating the infertile couple and combating infertility holistically.

Evaluation of the infertile couple must involve male infertility factors. We should not forget male infertility centered around viability of sperms. Semen analysis is central in male infertility workup. All the above fertility foods prescribed for the infertile woman is also good to boost male fertility. Food supplements balance male hormones, boost sperm count, viability, motility, longevity, and durability. Healthy sperms also withstand anti-sperm anti-bodies (hidden cause of infertility) in the woman’s reproductive tract.

“Help Getting Pregnant,” The #1 healthiest way to get pregnant and stop fertility treatment!

For years now it has deeply troubled me to see women suffering and expressing, “Help me get pregnant.”  As a yoga instructor and teacher to women it is my great hope to see women live happy and healthy lives.  That is why I am always on the look out for only the healthiest of ways to take care of our bodies, so we have the energy and balance to thrive in our modern world.

Now when it comes to getting pregnant, I see a ocean of women that need help getting pregnant.  They un knowingly turn to modern medicine and fertility clinics for help.  But what if there was a different way to heal your infertility.  What if there was a path that took a little effort but led you back to you God given health and vitality? “Would you take it?”

I’m sure you’ve heard the word Holistic!  But, you may wonder what it is and how it can help you to concive a healthy baby.  Allow me to shed some light on your situation and share with you what Holistic Medicine is.

Holistic Health is based on the law of nature that a whole is made up of interdependent parts. The earth is made up of systems, such as air, land, water, plants and animals. If life is to be sustained, they cannot be separated, for what is happening to one is also felt by all of the other systems. In the same way, an individual is a whole made up of interdependent parts, which are the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. When one part is not working at its best, it impacts all of the other parts of that person. Furthermore, this whole person, including all of the parts, is constantly interacting with everything in the surrounding environment. For example, when an individual is anxious about a history exam or a job interview, his or her nervousness may result in a physical reaction–such as a headache or a stomach ache. When people suppress anger at a parent or a boss over a long period of time, they often develop a serious illness–such as migraine headaches, emphysema, or even arthritis.

Holistic Health is an ongoing process. As a lifestyle, it includes a personal commitment to be moving toward better health and vitality. No matter what their current status of health, people can improve their level of well-being. Even when there are temporary setbacks, movement is always headed toward wellness.

The most obvious choices people make each day is what they “consume”–both physically and mentally. The cells in a person’s body are constantly being replaced. New cells are built from what is available. Harmful substances or lack of needed building blocks in the body can result in imperfect cells, unable to do what is required to keep that person healthy. Similarly, on the non-physical level, a person’s mental attitudes are “built” from what they see and hear.

The majority of illnesses and premature death can be traced back to lifestyle choices. There are the well-known dangers connected with drugs, alcohol, nicotine, and unprotected sexual activity. Less recognized is the impact of excesses in things like sugar, caffeine, and negative attitudes. Combined with deficiencies in exercise, nutritious foods, and self-esteem, these gradually accumulate harmful effects. With time they diminish the quality of the “environment” within that human being, and can set the stage for illness to take hold. Quality of life, now and in the future, is actually being determined by a multitude of seemingly unimportant choices made everyday.

Now I know I refer to illness but please understand that infertility is a sign that something is wrong.  You’re a woman and you were born to someday be able to have a child.  Infertility is just an imbalance.  If you need help getting pregnant then do it but do it in a way that will ensure the best health for you and your soon to be baby

Getting Pregnant – Fertility Treatments

Infertility is defined by the International Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCID) as a man and a woman who have been unable to conceive after a full year of unprotected intercourse. Infertility is caused by both men and women, and sometimes the problem is a shared one. This article discusses some of the common causes of infertility in both men and women.

Primary fertility is described as when a man and a woman have tried to conceive, but have never achieved a pregnancy together. There are many possible causes of primary infertility including a wide range of physical and emotional factors.

Get Pregnancy Miracle System Quickly and Permanently Cure Your Infertility

The first is Endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition where the tissue that lines the uterus, (endometrial tissue,) sheds each month with the period but grows back outside the uterus. Symptoms of this particular condition include painful menstruation, irregular or heavy bleeding and repeated miscarriages. Fortunately, there are surgical solutions for women experiencing endometriosis. Using Leparoscopic surgery you can remove tissue and unblock tubes. After an laparoscopic surgery forty to sixty percent are able to conceive within a year and a half after surgery.

Ovulation problems are also a common condition that results in infertility in women. Endometriosis is a condition where the tissue that lines the uterus, (endometrial tissue,) sheds each month with the period but grows outside the uterus. This is usually due to a hormonal imbalance. There are drugs on the market that help stimulate proper ovulation. Some examples are human chorionic gonadotrophin and Clomiphene. With proper treatment, seventy percent of women are able to achieve ovulation while twenty to sixty percent are able to get pregnant.

Another common problem that affects fertility in women is egg quality. In certain circumstances a woman’s eggs can become damaged in such a way as to not sustain a pregnancy. Usually egg quality problems are due to advanced age because the overall quality of eggs declines as a woman reaches her late thirties and early forties. Unfortunately there are no ways to treat egg deterioration due to aging. Egg donation or surrogacy is a solution that many couples use when running into problems associated with egg quality. Around forty-three percent of women who receive a fertilized egg from a donor are able to become pregnant.

Infertility can be attributed to the man between thirty-five and forty percent of the time. Male tube blockages is one of the most common conditions experienced by men unable to properly fertilize an egg. A tube blockage includes anything that obstructs the vas deferens or epididymuis. The blockage stops sperm from making the journey from the testicles proper delivery. It is possible to use surgery to discover, isolate and repair obstructions. Of those who undergo surgery to repair tube blockages, around forty percent are capable of properly impregnating their partner within twelve months of the surgery.

Another common problem for men experiencing infertility has to do with the sperm itself. If a man has a low sperm count, it could be that fertility drugs are needed to boost the production of sperm. Another option is artificial insemination, where a doctor injects sperm from a donor directly into an egg. Artificial insemination results in about a twenty-five percent success rate.

Less than ten percent of men and women who are infertile have negative reactions to sperm. For couples who are experiencing problems related to sperm allergy, a number of sperm cleaning solutions are available. Intrauterine insemination and assisted conception treatments are two examples of solutions for those experiencing sperm allergy. The rate of success is believed to be anywhere between the twenty and forty percent range, though the numbers are sometimes debated.

Finally, between twenty and thirty-five percent of all fertility problems for both men and women go unexplained. Studies have shown that fifteen to thirty percent of couples that are experiencing fertility problems are able to conceive within five years. For those who are not able to conceive with that five year time period, less than ten percent are able to conceive without some type of medical intervention.

There are a number of reasons that a couple may be experiencing fertility concerns. As discussed above, each major condition associated with fertility problems has either a direct solution or suggested method for overcoming the concern. Hopefully a greater understanding of what causes infertility will help put some couples at ease and realize that they are non alone.
